Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Day 49: Falls Short of Top 10 Highest-Grossing Indian Films of All Time
The massive success of KGF Chapter 2 and Kantara Chapter 1 has carved its own legacy in Kannada cinema. From day one, the film impressed audiences with its strong content and went on to enjoy a long theatrical run. After 49 days in theatres, it has raked in impressive numbers worldwide. However, despite its phenomenal performance, the Rishab Shetty starrer has narrowly missed entering the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

Overseas, the film has nearly completed its run, earning ₹111 crore gross. This brings the worldwide gross to about ₹844.03 crore.

Why It Missed the Top 10
Given its strong start, Kantara Chapter 1 was considered a contender for the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films globally, but it couldn’t cut. Even though it’s still running in select theatres, it is unlikely to climb much higher, with an expected lifetime gross of around ₹844.5–845 crore.
To enter the top 10, the film would have needed to surpass Animal, which has a global gross of ₹910.72 crore, a target now out of reach.
